This is interesting as Tesla Roadster was interesting but got crushed (literally). The documentary called Who Killed The Electric Car is worth a watch. Best of luck Tesla.

Except Apple didn't need taxpayer subsidies to encourage the market. In the time since its IPO, Tesla has never come close to making money in any year. In the last four years it has lost over 2.6 billion.
Once Tesla can stand on its own two feet, without subsidies, show a profit, stop burning $billions, and show it is a legitimate business, then a comparison to Apple can be made.

Wondering if Tesla takes its money and channels it thru backdoors like Apple does.

So this will probably be available in Japan when? 2075?

Except the Teslas cause plenty of pollution themselves.
Most of the electricity to power them comes from 'pollution-spewing' fossil fuel.
Then there is pollution from the mining and production of their batteries. Batteries that need replacement every 5-7 years at huge cost.
And then on a completely different note. At least in the US (where most Teslas are sold), the money for road construction and repair comes from taxes on 'pollution-spewing fossil fuel', namely tax on the gasoline. With electric cars no gasoline tax is collected, yet they still drive on the same roads and bridges and still cause wear and tear to the infrastructure. When electric vehicles start to become a significant portion of the vehicles on the road where is the money to maintain them going to come from?

That's quite an impressive number!
So what? Do you want more taxes? How about less taxes and cleaner air? Is that something that might interest you?
Dom Palmer
I explained so what. Without gasoline taxes there isn't money to build and repair roads and bridges. So either they fall apart or the money has to come from somewhere else. Total taxes will NOT go down as the government will implement a new tax, or raise an existing tax, to cover the cost. And I also explained that at present they DON'T lead to cleaner air. They might shift where the pollution is generated but they still produce as much (or as some studies show MORE) pollution as a well tuned fossil fuel powered car.
I would like less taxes and cleaner air. But simple reality shows that at present electric cars WILL not and CAN not provide either one.
