I sincerely hope they are successful. Being stuck on a ship with no prospect of returning home, or even being allowed ashore briefly during a port call has to be like prison for them. Worse still and not mentioned in this article but well covered in the maritime press are the crews who are out past the end of their contract who are not even being paid, but are stuck on ships unable to leave due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions in place in nearly every nation. Plus you have an equal number of seafarers stuck ashore and out of work because crew changes are not being accomplished.
