I hope any new buyer does their due diligence. Japanese companies get away with cooking their books as a matter of course. Probably billions of yen off the balance sheet somewhere.

Maybe it would be wise to add innovation and involve a partnership with a Chinese company. Access to 1.4 billion customers?

More large companies will do this, if they need to escape the asset-stripping shareholders, looking to make a quick buck at the expense of the company as a whole and its long-term sustainability.
