I don't think these funds do any good to any company in the long term.

Toshiba doesn't deserve to have any long term future. Best to break up the company and give the assets to people who know how to use them.

With all those accounting scandals and also allegedly colluding with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (mr. Suga) to bully its foreign shareholders… Toshiba is such a mess !

It was not long ago that the financial community spoke of Toshiba’s deep connections within the Japanese government, and the need to keep liquidity (particularly foreign) flowing into the company. If it remains publically traded, without being split into multiple tiny Toshibas, I'm not sure how management will ever be able to show potential shareholders how they will achieve the highest level of transparancy and accountability. I suspect that it ultimately it has to go private to salvage the brand name of a storied company. And save face. For awhile.

Disclosure: I have no business relationship or financial position whatsoever with this company, and do not intend to do so in the near future.

The company is pretty much dead, very much a zombie company propped up by taxpayer backed debts. This is the exact type of company that needs PE intervention. Toshiba is a company that needs a compete overhaul. The only reason that its stock have any value is because of its government connections and ease of access to taxpayer money and government backed debts. If it is any other company the stocks would be trading at 0.01
