Toyoda Gosei starts operation of new auto airbag plant in Mexico

I was under the impression that they were taking over Takata's old plants and infrastructure, which have been available on the market for several years, although this article says it is a "new" plant. I hope Toyoda really did start from scratch.

As a recall, much of the trouble with Takata airbags started when they moved production to Mexico. I would think that Toyoda Gosei management would be very aware of this fact, but hey... profit margins.

Good for Toyota and reducing the cost of labor, I just hope they don't plan to send Japanese executives over there, they'll be kidnapped for sure.
