Ten million, ten million, ten million? Right, so about neck and neck then for outright numbers.

I would be interested to see a breakdown of types of vehicles and engine/motor systems for each company.

This isn't even remotely true. With the exception of certain luxury vehicle manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes, and more the auto industry in the NA was down for everyone. Toyota's numbers were no different there than Volkswagen's numbers.

The biggest area that hit Toyota was its numbers in Asia. Their numbers dropped across all markets in Asia tremendously.

Say what? If you mean the 12V battery, if you can't figure out how to change it on a Volkswagen, your probably not fit for driving anyway.

The hybrid Li-Ion batteries are a totally different story and you can't change those on most brands.
