Toyota adds nearly 1.4 mil vehicles to Takata air bag recall

How about some news on how this affects us here in Japan? Which domestic Japanese makes, models, years are being recalled? Are there even recalls here in Japan? Not really interested about what's happening in the USA. Other than the pressure it may have to force the local authorities to do something.

USB: Yes, there have been recalls in Japan. Quite a lot, in fact. I know at least a few people who have had their cars recalled to have one or both airbags changed, but I don't know if it's nation-wide, as many people I know haven't had to take their vehicles in. The friends who mentioned they did had Hondas.

I've had my car recalled (2003 Toyota Mark II) for the passenger airbag. In November I received a letter and tried to set an appointment ASAP, they told my girlfriend soonest available was January! I marked my calendar, and when January came around.....they claimed they had no appointment on the schedule for me. So I'm still driving around with a claymore mine pointed at my passengers' faces.
