So even though these plans are made years in advance (and this is Toyota's normal investment rate in the US), they will make it sound like it is due to Trump to feed his ego and curry favor. I guess you can't stoop too low.

Some of the most reliable cars you can buy and they needed the upgrades to remain competitive. Problem #1 is that people are buying suvs (small and large now) = will enough 4 doors be sold to justify this plant upgrade.
