I've owned 3 Prius' and each one by far was the best vehicle I ever owned when it came to overall value. Fairly inexpensive, great gas mileage, good drive and if needed it could fit in a lot of packages. To me.... the Prius is the best vehicle ever produced for the common frugal man that needs to own a car.
Oh my Buddha
Modern day butterfly effect?

That fault exists in all of the Prius range, it’s called ‘the driver’. Recall them all and give them bus passes .

As Saiko says, the Prius is a great car. It goes twice as far as a regular car of the same size on the same amount of gasoline, three or four times if the other car is an SUV. It is a sad indictment of society that this, a proxy for how much a car pollutes and how much money it sends to the fossil fuel industry, is less important than how it looks.

Cars get recalled regularly now, even Japanese cars

Interesting.. but wondering why you needed a 2nd or 3rd Prius if the first one was really that good? The 1st generation of Prius was released worldwide in the early 2000s, so did each Prius only last 6 or so years before needing to be replaced?

This gives me greater motivation to restore my '78 VW Beetle.

Prius owners seem to think they have the best vehicles on the road, not to mention they think they have the power to race high end sports vehicles! And as Heckleberry said, why 3 Prius if they're so good? Ugly car, and there are better cars out there "for the frugal man".

"Toyota has sold more than 10 million hybrid gasoline-electric vehicles globally, including the Prius, since 1997."
Impressive.
"Ugly car"
The first ones were ugly to be sure, but the new ones... OK, they're better than before, though, lol

maybe he just wanted the newer version, or if you run a profitable business its a good tax deduction to lease a new vehicle over 3~4 yrs and then upgrade to the newer model when it comes out normally every 4 yrs. resale values are still good, Toyota being one of the best, and you get to drive around in the latest vehicle instead of paying a good portion of the profit in taxes.
