I hear what you are saying but try to find a pick-up truck sold in the US at least with a manual transmission. Nobody sells them in the US any more. Dodge was the last hold out, you could get a six speed manual with the Cummins diesel in the 3/4 ton chassis but Dodge discontinued that option years ago.

f1 cars haven't had clutch pedals for 25 years.

I've never driven a US pickup but I assume they have car-like gear ratios, not truck-like ones. A Japanese kei truck is a pain to drive on roads. Driven normally, a kei truck is three gear changes by the time you hit 30 km/h. In stop-start traffic or with lots of traffic lights, this is not a fun experience.

Ford is selling pick-em-up trucks with a ten speed slush box. Dodge, er, I mean Ram sells them with six or eight speed boxes. You can specify final drive ratios to suit your needs.

In the US one cannot order any BMW with a manual gearbox. A 3-Series with a slush box is an offense to nature /:

Have you ever seen a twin stick transmission?

Series 60 four stroke Detroit. Good engine. Only engine I could take loaded down the Grapevine entirely on the Jake Brake. No hot smoking brakes. No pucker O_O

I can tell from the door handle the truck is an old Freightshaker (Freightliner Corp). I could hear the plastic in the door chirping in the video. Gawd those older Freightliners were crude. Mercedes bought them and Dieter Zetsche made Freightliners into luxury vehicles that almost rode like cars.
