Sounds great.

Can't wait for the hydrogen cars!
jeff198527
I agree. Hydrogen is the most abundant element and will eventually (hopefully) break the backs of OPEC and big oil.

Ho hum... Hey Toyota...How about you just focus on getting back to building a "well" built car like you did in the 90's. By all accounts Hyundai and Kia have picked up the ball that Toyota has dropped.

Well, they (with a bit of help from Subaru) did come up with the 86 GT - a car many consider one of the most important cars of the past decade. They're at least doing something right there.
Toyota, like all Japanese makers with perhaps the exception of Mazda, has a problem with styling, not engineering.

Hydrogen fueling stations.... Please Toyota consider opening your own pumps at your local Toyota car dealerships in Sweden and I will be one who buys the car.

Papasmurf,
Yes, I've heard good things about the GT86 although many complain it's way underpowered. My dis-satisfaction centers around the decisions made in terms of utility and 4x4 vehicles. I drive a '93 80 series LandCruiser and previously a 70 Series. The majority of these trucks that are 20+ years old are still going strong and with regular maintenance will continue to go many more years. I KNOW you cannot say the same thing about an FJ Cruiser or a Tacoma. That reliability is really what Toyota is known for but all I see these days are Subaru like quality... sad.

Won't happen considering the easiest and cheapest way to extract hydrogen is still from oil.
Honestly it is going to be all electric cars like the Tesla cars that are going to break the back of OPEC and get us off of oil.

Na...it's going to be guys like me in a gas pig using up all the oil that's going to fuel the next technology. Proud to be doing my part.
Get Real
Hopefully hydrogen can get Big Oil off... oil. They're the biggest barrier to progress.

Hey, I drive a Subaru... but I have to agree with you there. : (

Sorry Papa....
Subaru is like a B list celebrity with a really great publicist. ;)
Ex Animo
I would simply choose to drive a reconditioned Subaru WRX STi than any new Hyundai or KIA.

Toyota the greatest car maker in the world leading from the front again, well done Toyota you have become what others aspire to be in the motor industry.

OPEC countries are not pleased at this news.

They might thinking about investing in preparing for the day [their] fossil fuels run out - and run out they will.
