Toyota says North American plant closures likely this month

Toyota! What another mess! They should be making these parts right in NORTH AMERICA so they would not have to close down their plants. No brainer??

It states in this article that Nisaan, Ford, and Chrysler have and will experience shut downs and disruptions... no doubt GM will too. Although the automotive industry as a whole tries to localize where they can, they still (unfortunately in this case) depend on a GLOBAL CHAIN of supply for many parts and materials.

The article also states that only 15% of their North American built cars used parts from Japan, with 500 suppliers in North America. Please don't insult the auto industry unless you AT LEAST read the whole article.
