Boeing and Airbus make plane parts in other countries so that those countries would buy their planes

Unless Trump wants the only buyers of Boeing planes would be the US

People want to see Trump's businesses so that they know where there can be possible conflicts of interest. They don't want to just take Trump's word on it - if they don't know about his businesses, then every deal would be suspect to them:

A clear majority of Americans (59 percent) believe that Trump handing over his business to his children "does not go far enough" toward preventing conflicts of interest.

This includes some people who in general support him: nearly 4 in 10 conservatives and one-quarter of Republicans agreed that giving his children control of the Trump Organization isn't enough.

Recently, Trump claimed his businesses would be placed in a "blind trust" led by his children. However, several outlets have argued that that's not a terribly "blind" setup.

And just as a majority of Americans want Trump out of the family business, many also want the family out of the West Wing. Nearly 6 in 10 voters told Morning Consult they believe Trump's children and immediate family shouldn't be involved in the administration.

Conflict of interest is a significant concern for the people.

So these companies who have been making record profits,using CHEAP LABOR and getting over on taxes are suddenly gonna stop doing so because trump who is also a businessman makes these unrealistic threats? yea good luck with that.

Factory moves outside usa.

Gets charged 35% tax for stuff sold in usa.

But not all of what it sells is most likely to be sold in the usa.

So it puts up prices in the usa to cover trumpets tax,

It may lose some sales in the usa, but it may still end up saving in the long run from selling to other countries from its outside of the usa factory.

Trump should be encouraging employers to stay, not threating them.

Why are jobs moving out of the usa ? because it saves money.

A company that sells mainly in the usa will stay in the usa, but a company that sells mostly outside of the usa will see to cut costs by moving out of the usa.

This sounds about as certain as Trump's wall. What specific Trump items will Trump have made in the USA?

I don't think anyone cares now at this present time except for disgruntled Democrats and liberals. LOL actually more than just democrats want him to be transparent. Trump says he's going to drain the swamp, yet his own financial information is a swap unto itself, which very few can see past the surface. If he's got nothing to fear then he shouldnt have any problems showing his tax returns. Even Warren Buffett whos worth ten times as much as Trump has released his returns for the public to see.

Some of the companies Trump owns have their products manufactured in various sweatshops around the world. Has he said whether he'll shift that manufacturing to the USA, and if so what incentives he'll give himself (or ask states to give him) for doing so?

Of course you can leave. But if you do, expect to pay a 35% tax on items you try to sell back to US consumers.

If we make, say a simple electrical home outlet in the states, ( try to remember the decade you could do that) then we have to have the materials to make it with. That's where it gets tricky, doesn't it? Fuel is required to access and process raw materials into aluminum and plastics and paper products. That fuel puts a stress on it's country of origin, or puts dependence on not her to supply it. Imagine if Saudi Arabia had both oil and trees..and copper mines.... Let's take another look at the pie chart again.

I find myself in a quandary. I too feel that American workers are not playing on a level field. Corporations have been moving manufacturing jobs to countries with fewer rules regarding toxic wastes or humane treatment for their workers. On the other hand, how can I be expected to trust a man who is a proven con-man, who lies more than he tells the truth, and who is a self-described sexual predator?

The idea that good things can come from such an eminently bad man seems to be self-deluded wishful thinking. Some of what he says sort of makes sense, but that is not good enough.

Did it ever occur to you that just maybe he knows what he is doing?

Boeing, for example, would have to play ball if it wants its government contracts renewed,” said one expert who requested anonymity. considering Airbus has a factory in China, that'll put Boeing at a disadvantage for selling planes in China. you know the worlds biggest growth market for planes. Itll be that US companies will only be able to sell their made in US products in the US as they wont be able to compete with the Asian factories. Then Trump is assuming that his 35% tariffs on imported goods won't break WTO rules and that China, EU, wont look at it as unfair trading and impose similar taxes on US companies. Trump is deluded if he thinks he can get congress, many of whom are in big business pockets , to pass his deluded protectionist policies.

A "smart" (?) move to discourage foreign investment. Start up in USA, and subject to Trump, you cannot leave.

Trumps knows this already, since even he's not pulling any his Trump Corporation affiliated business outside of Asia. Meanwhile, he easily gets suckered by companies to get tax cuts, and they'll still move facilities outside the US because the US isn't the only market for opportunity. If however he managed to get jobs back from Mexico, and considering more people are currently going back to Mexico than entering the US, the irony of it all would be that Mexicans will go back entering the US for work and no wall would stop that.

Tough talk from the guy who promised Carrier a giant bribe from the taxpayers' wallets if they just keep half the people they were going to fire in the US.

All the know-it-alls that think they know everything that goes on behind the scenes. Did it ever occur to you that just maybe he knows what he is doing? Trumps threats may not stop every company from leaving, but it sure will make them think twice before making such a big decision.

Gotta love how the corporate fat cats are starting to squirm. They're now fearing public disclosure of their activities and possible consumer boycotts.

Am all for favoring local production but this is silly and overly simplistic from Trump (and he knows that).

Very, very few products are 100% made In 'name of the country' in the world we live in and it's not going to change any time soon Some parts may be produced here, assembled elsewhere and packaged in another country yet have the 'made in' label'.Keep business in the US if it's good for the economy and the benefits (I.e jobs kept here, quality etc) outweigh the negatives (higher price, lack of expertise, quality etc).

Trump makes it sound like it's always better for the national economy to produce everything, from a to z at home. It's not.

So Trump has given companies a way to get huge tax cuts. They just say they are going to move their factory to Mexico, and voila!!! A huuuuge tax cut!
