A senior U.S. official says that Washington wants to expand economic ties with Asia

Well, why doesn't she fix them?

That's what she's supposed to do, isn't she? That's why she has her position and her large salary.

Trying to "solve it" by blaming China is NEVER going to get rid of the problem.

When relations go sour, it's never entirely the fault of one side.

I shall answer your simple question with an even simpler answer.

China’s provocative conduct in the South China Sea raises tensions that are bad for business

Hope that helps.

Simple question deserve simple answers.

The best way to fix the problems in the region would be if Communist China stopped invading it's neighbors.

She can't solve anything if Communist China keeps acting like a 10 year old bully. You can't reason with 10 year old bullies.

Hmmmm why does the 9-Dash line come to mind??

BertieWoosterJun. 06, 2014 - 07:52AM JST When relations go sour, it's never entirely the fault of one side.

It's easy to blame Communist China when they claim nearly 90% of the South China Sea and nearly all of the East China Sea.

Just those seas have the word China doesn't mean they belong to Communist China.

It takes two to tango, but when Communist China does the tangos they step on everyone else's feet on the dance floor.

If Communist China would act reasonable and like a good neighbor business could move slowly.

Hope that helps you to see the errors of your way.

Hey, Joe, could you explain to us where exactly "Communist China" is?

It sure as hell ain't the oligarchy run by a bunch of despots from Beijing, and it isn't Taiwan or Hong Kong either.

Where do you mean?

As always, I am here to help those that need the most help and here we go.

Well, your question is easy.....

Let's see, last time I checked the headquarters of the Communist Party of China was located in Zhongnanhai (their well guarded compound).

I know this will come as a complete shock to you, but there is only one real ruling party in China and that is (drumroll please) the Communist Party.

Now, the people might not be Communist, but that doesn't mean that they have any say as to what their leaders (the Communist) do.

If they do or say anything against what their leaders are doing, well we all know what happens to them.

Hope that helps you out.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker told American and Filipino business groups that the United States has overinvested its diplomatic, economic and strategic resources in other parts of the world.

Many Fillipino business groups that understand that United States have already broke and no gut to take more risks for expanding oversea investment. Sharing the investment with US military contractors is scary as sleeping in the tiger cage. The good old days of investing multi millions war machines of Subic and Clark air base are distant memory. New recycled air bases of that two have not much land space due to the land development of last 20 yrs.

US of A has been a trouble maker and thirsty for oil and bossing the globe around. It has been creating the instability in middle east. Now Arab spring has become as Arab nightmare and US can not fix the problem. It has caused the chaos with divide and conquer strategy. Israel and Palestine have lost the trust as US as trust worthy and reliable mediator. In fact it has been a back stabber and fair weather friend for changing the tone for the Geo political interest.

Hosting the US Air Bases in Philippines means PRC has been circled into the corner. However it is extremely doubtful US will shed the single drop of blood for Philippines territory interest.

Flyfalcon,

Well said!

And now, they are trying to do the same thing in Asia.

The US is trying to force its "colonies" like the Philippines and Okinawa into hosting huge superbases because of its insane fear of "communism." At the same time, it is becoming more and more like the old communist USSR.

Both the U.S.A. and China need to calm down and sit down to work out ways to coexist. Yet another arms race will not do this.

@Joe

I'm an enthusiastic supporter of true socialism/communism anywhere in the world.

If you honestly believe that the current Beijing regime is communist, then I suggest that nobody can help you....
