Considering that NASA and the NHTSA themselves said the overwhelming majority of all sudden acceleration cases were DRIVER error this should indeed be thrown out.

We know who's been bought and paid for. Let not America's justice system be bought for those gaijin (Japanese) from Toyota. Stick it to them like their accelarators stick.
No more Toyotas, no more beef or food from the nothern part of Japan. I think it's time to find out which country can hold it's breath longer.

@NetNinja don't be ridiculous. Ford has recall issues in the late 90's and there was no government hearing although 119 people died. When Toyota had this problem (allegedly 58 peolpl died), they got the president fly from Japan. Obama admin attacked Toyota way too harsh. GM, and Chryler had vehicles wiht the same problem.

Toyota, as well as Ford, GMC etc...ALL HAVE BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS!! They only care about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ profits and $$$$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!! How many cover ups do we know about?? How many have been settled out of courts??? Both Americans and Japanese car companies are real good at selling stuff but when we get hurt, killed or what ever they really know how to grease up the court of so called justice. Money talks and !^$^$^(&()!!! walks right??

CharlieCard is absolutely right! NASA had broken down the braking and accelerating problem with all their technical expertise and ruled that there could not have been a "sticky accelerator' problem.

I trust NASA because NASA would know, they have quite a history of accidents. And anybody who drives regularly will know, Prius drivers are the worst!

It was not surprising after sudden accelation problem surfaced that Toyota’s response was dilatory and inept, because crisis management in Japan is grossly undeveloped. Over the past two decades, I cannot think of one instance where a Japanese company has done a good job managing a crisis. The pattern is all too familiar, typically involving slow initial response, minimizing the problem, foot dragging on the product recall, poor communication with the public about the problem and too little compassion and concern for consumers adversely affected by the product. In case after case companies have shortchanged their customers by shirking responsibility until the accumulated evidence forces belated disclosure and recognition of culpability.
Japanese firms often seek to cover up or fudge the facts and the people communicating with the media and public often do not have the information they need to do their job. The absence of a structure to quickly get accurate information to top management hampers an accurate and adequate response. That leaves management unprepared to deal with media questioning and conveys an image of stonewalling and indifference.
