tragic; even with the verdict, there are no winners in this story.

Toyota was not guilty but has to pay 11 M dollars... There were no evidence, just allegations.... I just love America

It won't be paid, it will be appealed and hopefully the truth will prevail. It sounds extremely dodgy to me. ".......the Camry’s auto-drive assembly......" What is that? The cruise control? If so then the writer of this article is not qualified to write motor-related articles.

Jurors were asked to decide whether there was a defect in the design of the 1996 Camry that was unreasonably dangerous, and if so, whether that defect caused the plaintiffs’ injuries.

What a farce.

Sudden acceleration is the biggest farse i have ever seen in my life.

For better or worse, if you want to sell your complex products in America, you're going to have to accept that an average Joe juror is going to have the final say if things go wrong.

For what it's worth: I've received two separate warranty updates/extensions so far on my 2014 Camry.

Lawsuits filed against any foreign company will NEVER have a chance of winning esp. in a red state. They're all in it together for the money and as American cars gain traction, it's only going to get worse. They don't lobby for nothing!

What, slapping the car into neutral first and slamming on the ABS brakes didn't factored in the driver's skill?

THIS WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN A CASE IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR... That's why I only own car's that have a clutch pedal. Even then if this same thing happened to me while driving an 'autobox', I'd slap the car into neutral and if that failed, I would next kill the ignition all the while standing on the brakes.

What all adults know is that Toyota are far superior vehicles when comparing them with american cars.

Correct: That is why I bought Toyota.
