The massive tax cuts for the super rich were supposed to pay for themselves. That's like jumping out of a plane without a parachute and believing that flapping one's arms will provide a soft landing.

The U.S. government ended fiscal year 2019 with the largest budget deficit in seven years as gains in tax receipts were offset by higher spending and growing debt service payments, the Treasury department said on Friday.

Hey Repubs - what happened to all the trash talk about a balanced budget? You know, we're for a balanced budget amendment, we must get our fiscal house in order, we're just borrowing from China to pay our bills, etc., etc.....

Sure changed fast after Jan 20 2017, didn't it. Now you don't care that we're borrowing money from China to give back in tax breaks to the Top 1% - like Mr "I won't release my taxes" Trump...

Can we spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y?

"Our $17T national debt and $1T yearly budget deficits are a national security risk of the highest order."

"It can be done. ... It will take place and it will go relatively quickly. ... If you have the right people, like, in the agencies and the various people that do the balancing ... you can cut the numbers by two pennies and three pennies and balance a budget quickly and have a stronger and better country."

Donald J. Trump

Can't wait to see how Bass et al will try to spin this one! Let me guess, it's all Hillary's fault? Or Iran's fault? Dodgy Don only knows how to spend, waste and cheat as he's done all his life. He must be a little disappointed that he can't cook the books anymore.

“...will be the first to take it above $30 trillion.”

So, you’re already conceding electoral defeat for the hapless Dems and a second term in office for the Commander in Chief.
