I can only imagine the sort of rorting that went on in the U.S in terms of federal financial assistance that companies embarked upon.

In Australia, its estimated up to $30 billion. Thats right - $30 billion, could have been given to companies that should never have had it. Now it could well be significantly less, but you'd have to say its been an absolute windfall for the private sector in Aus, but of course, will have to be paid for by everyday people. Its really a scandal and im surprised the Labor party hasnt pushed much harder on the issue.
