Bet they can use the B737-Max on which US airlines won't be able to sell seats. Plus, let China steal that intellectual property, if they want it.

Too bad the B757 wasn't the right B737 replacement (numerous reasons) and died off.

Boeing assembles airliners for their Chinese customers in China with a Chinese partner so one must assume the Chinese are already privvy to the intellectual property of Boeing Airliners. What is interesting is that even as China has thousands of GE, Rolls Royce and Westinghouse high bypass turbofan engines on airplanes owned and serviced by wholly Chinese companies, they still cannot figure out how to make one to the same high standards of durability and reliability as the western companies. Even with examples to examine, their material science and manufacturing cannot duplicate the best western commercial jet engine technology. Engine problems plague Chinese and Russian aircraft and most Russian or Chinese airliners destined for any kind of international service are fitted with a western turbofan engine for the sake of reliability.

Of course that assumes the Chinese don't embargo US made aircraft. If they do that Boeing is toast. Keep in mind the Comac C919 is close to entering commercial service as a direct competitor to the Boeing 737 and Airbus A919 lines.
