China urges WTO members to put U.S. tariff 'beast back in the cage'

This brings a tear to my eye.  Poor China seeking help from the WTO.

Guess China has forgotten who helped them get into the WTO in the first place.

Supporting a trade war because it is China is cutting off your nose to spite your face. We will all feel the economic impact of said trade war.

I think we are a long way off a trade war.  Seems to me that there are already endless restrictions on trade around the world.  Making the point that some countries don't have realtively free access to their markets seems to me to be a valid one.

I doubt China is going to get too much support from other countries when it comes to their intellectual property thievery. Its been going on for decades and every country is subject to it and it falls well outside of international norms in how they implement it.

In terms of steel and aluminium. I agree with China on that one. Its not for national security, its Trump outdated idea of supporting factory workers.

I am glad the U.S is focusing on tech, intellectual property and Chinese investment and that should remain the focus for now, even scaling it up if necessary. The U.S must protect its tech industry. Its vital not just for them, but for the rest of the free world. We do not want to be reliant on Chinese technology. That is an international security disaster.

Why wouldn't it get such support? The "other countries" have been turning a blind eye to the problem. Trump the outlier and his administration are the only ones who care about it and willing to take action.

We should all push China off the boat.

Deeply ironic because everyone agrees that the Chicoms are notorious Beasts. The Chicoms deny even basic human rights such as freedom of religion speech and assembly. Chicoms illegally invaded Tibet and have illegally occupied Tibet for decades. The Chicoms are the world’s largest pollution creating nation.

By all measures China is the real Beast.

The Europeans care about it but the Europeans are soft. We all know that. It might be a different story if they can act in conjunction with the U.S and other states, perhaps Japan as well.
