Trump is the one that withdrew from the agreement, he has no right to impose sanctions on those who wish to do business with an Iran that continues to comply with the agreement. It is one thing to ask friends to join you in not doing business with someone. To threaten friends who do business with someone you don't like is another thing entirely.

This just makes America look stupid and makes friends less friendly.

Excuse me, but a nation like Japan, hell any Nation should be allowed to make their own choices on who they want to buy their needs from. A proud rich nation like Japan having to kowtow to Trump is an embarrassment, and I'm an American. You should be able to trade, take in, whatever the heck you want to without having to get a waiver from someone like Trump. Shameful.
