Good for you Musk!

Finally someone with the money and influence to do what HE wants, that is much better than any of the clueless politicians that are damaging the American economy.

It is not a matter of following laws.

It is a matter of logical steps to a health issue.

If California said Ok, no reason a county's decision shall prevail for a national scale factory.

He is not saying no to health matters at all.

I really hope they arrest him and force shutdown of his plant. Dude is an elitist, union busting, angry tweeting child. He's formed a cult of personality around himself though his marketing campaign and it's sad to see people fall for it.

It's funny to watch conservatives rally behind someone they would normally have nothing in common with. But then again, conservatives love getting screwed by their corporate overlords.

If they arrest Musk, it will be the end of auto manufacturing in CA.

CA really needs to get with the program.

I can only imagine being the plant manager when ordered by Musk to start the factory.

"Sir, we can open now, but that's illegal..."

"Just do it! You want to keep your job? I'll deal with the consequences!"

"OK sir, whatever you want..."

Blow-hard California Government officials have done everything in their power to destroy the beautiful state of California.

I think Mr. Musk has a major cash flow problem. Has he taken sufficient precautions to protect the workers at the Fremont plant? What would sufficient precautions even consist of? Trump has decided that everyone around him will get a rapid Covid-19 test at least once a day, but for the rest of us, that is not a possibility.

Please arrest this clown.

It will take a few high profile people getting sick to make people think that a virus is a real thing.

Higher profile than Tom Hanks and the Prime Minister of the UK? People know the virus is real, the debate is over how serious it is and, moreover, whether the response is appropriate or well thought-out.

its only U.S. vehicle factory

speaks volumes

Please arrest this clown.

He is not a clown, he is a visionary genius. Please research what he has done or is doing for the world. What have you contributed to society lately?

What have Steve Mnuchin, Jack Black and you done for the rock and roll deprived youth lately?

Signed, Duff McKagan

I say let him open, but make him responsible for all the litigation and legal woes should an outbreak accur in his factories, any employees get sick or die then Tesla can be responsible for the financial settlements from those families, good luck

and Musk is opening himself up to massive litigation should the virus infect workers at his factory, this could backfire bigtime for Tesla, goodluck

Intelligence and wisdom truly are very different things.

"If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me," he wrote.

You don't get to decide things like this, even if I think it would be appropriate. Rich people really think they are above the law.

the thing is, spatially and mentally, those people are FAR away in the US. You feel good, you don’t know anyone who is sick, it must be some media thing. Musk doesn’t live in NYC. He feels like nothing can hurt him. Meanwhile, viruses don’t care about your philosophy, and can wait.

No, the Prime Minister of the UK is in London. Musk in in San Francisco, which has a lockdown. I don't know what he feels and neither do you. And viruses don't care about philosophy, as far as we know. There is no evidence that a philosophically inclined virus would be safer, more dangerous or off trekking in Tibet. There are only facts, which reasonable people are willing to discuss.

Tesla has a plant running in China. Seems they know how to protect their workers. Why won't the county use this plant as a test for the required measures so other companies might learn AND the county health officials can learn too?

Provided the steps are reasonable AND every worker is there voluntarily, I don't see the issue. If the workers are forced to work and will be fired otherwise, then that's a different issue.

the issue isn't whether theyre there willing or not it an issue of breaking the law, if workers are infected and or die from the virus and Elon willingly knew he was breaking CA law then any litigation against Tesla would have plenty of evidence against them
