Macron and Abe seek to avert Renault-Nissan row

I expect a full blown spy novel like story in a year. No doubt these two are also discussing Ghosn as well.

Some powerful people seemed to have pissed off even more powerful people.

Its always interesting, yet obviously full of personal agendas when heads of companies and generals and former top guns get the rug pulled.

Nissan keeps talking about the imbalance of stock, they have the option of purchasing more of Renault to even the numbers.

What do they expect? Renault to just roll over and play dead?

The French official quoted Abe as telling Macron that "the legal process must be allowed to take its course."

What, like the Kake and Moritomo School scandals? Yeah, right. This Ghosn affair is nothing more than a state-sponsored kidnapping.

I'm not going to have any sympathy if Nissan drops into the gutter again.

It seems Abe knows something. Hopefully he is not directly involved.

Why NISSAN have to purchase more Renault shares which didn't make money?

NISSAN must ask Renault for voluntary reducing its shares in NISSAN to 35% from 43% and sell its shares back to NISSAN. Otherwise, Japanese Government to restrict foreign Company ownership in Car industry.

Carlos Ghosn tries to merger Renault and NISSAN is one of a few lessons for Japanese car industry and Government. If Renault and Nissan merger has happened and then Renault will be the majority share owner of the new Company and Nissan Company will be gone forever. The Renault can access all Nissan technology like Nissan GTR 4 WD system which was currently protected. The reason Renault involved in Nissan Company was Renault asked Subaru for a 4 WD system and Subaru had advised Renault to Nissan.

The Renault Company doesn't make money and have profit like Nissan.

I don't know why Carlos Ghosn wanted to merger Renault and Nissan in the first place. He claimed to be Nissan man.

I respect Carlos Ghosn for his work, but he has mademistakes. He has abused his position and misused Company money. It seems to be Netherlands subsidiary was used as his secret private bank. He paid his sister $ 600,000 for nothing doing for Nissan Company business. He bought apartment and house by using money from Netherlands subsidiary. He though peoples from Nissan in Japan won't be found out his misusing money from Netherlands subsidiary. The accusation against Carlos Ghosn seems to be Nissan has solid evidence against him and Greg Kelly.

Yubaru, you don't bother reading the articles. Or you don't get the concept of imbalance ? That means Nissan cannot decide to buy Renault, it's Renault that votes Nissan's decisions, Renault has majority of votes. Renault can decide to buy more of Nissan (but has no need), and Nissan has not even one vote to oppose it. Behind that, owning Nissan does not serve Renault that much, they could use the money elsewhere, they could easily be convinced to get out. It's Nissan that wants to stay in, Nissan BEGS to stay in. If Renault left, the next day, that would become Nissan-Samsung or Nissan-Alibaba or Nissan-Mittal and there would be zero Japanese managers left, zero Japanese worker left... unless they accept transfer to a Chinese plant and a 80% pay cut.

I fear that P.M.Abe become manipulated by Friench government.I can't image that Abe insist clearly to defend Japanese company.
