"eco cars". Never has there been a more boring and misleading development in automobiles.

As a car enthusiast Im not looking forward to the likely eventual legislation for electric only with compulsory driver aids, with tracking and central traffic management...

The humble car that bought enjoyment, freedom of movement to the young, and middle class will be gone.

This isn't to say don't care about the environment, I do, but other than potentially less local particulate pollution, depending on how the electricity is made, distributed, batteries made and disposed of it may be no less, and potentially more polluting than a well made, light weight car with a economical conventional engine.

I believe we will probably move to electric in time but the infrastructure isn't there, nor the battery technology, they are too heavy, take too long to charge and too short of a life, so don't want governments to start legislation towards it until its actually a realistic option.

The car companies are simply looking for something new to sell, remember the failure of 3D TV interesting idea but poor application, requires special glasses, people don't want to wear special glasses to watch TV.

All industries do it, with cars becoming so reliable you have to come up with something new to keep selling and this is what seems to be sticking.. interesting ideas but there are real issues, range, charge time, battery life, charging infrastructure, break down/empty battery infrastructure and services.

Even simple things like, how on earth would most Japanese Apartment/Mansion buildings accommodate 20+ high amperage/high voltage charging points and be able to charge that to the car owner.

Why try make anything better than anything else? For some cars are not simply form of A to B, and sure that serves a purpose, but for people who are passionate about cars, it is a unique symbiosis of the mechanical and human, where art, technology and excitement meet, striving for better, faster, safer, more efficient is what makes the transport industry move forward, or should, and that then finds its way into all levels of vehicle, or we could all drive the same LADA around?

Why one of the richest companies in the world can't afford a decent translator or have someone working for them who can speak English ... spending millions on advertising and at the end of the day still confusing adjectives for nouns. Basic JHS grammar.

Concept cars very rarely get put into production, the technology within is another matter.

Why do they alway make these ridiculous futuristic designs. Like Peter K said: Impractical

Hope to see that most of those cars will never be produced, many of them being just plain ugly or impractical.

They look nice, but until battery technology improves, I wouldn't buy one. They currently take hours to charge and only last a few hundred km. Compared to gasoline, which refills in minutes and can take you further.

It's like a line-up of corrupt companies! :)

Anyway, I see they forgot to ask a native English speaker what their new slogan would sound like, although I guess it's slightly better than "Impossible to Start".

Wow! Lots of great cars there although, I shudder to think what kind of price tag they are carrying. That first car looks like a Johnny taxi from the movie, the Fifth Element. Also, I still can't understand why car manufacturers spend so much time developing extremely expensive cars that can travel in excess of 250kph when the national speed limit in most countries is 120kph. That just doesn't make any sense to me at all. It's interesting to see AI coming into new cars. After more than decade of working in high schools and colleges in Japan I can tell you for a fact that, artificial intelligence is already in use right across the country.
