Japan is full of temporary part time jobs with very low security nor perks.

I agree totally with kurisupu
The quality of the job, the low pay and conditions are not what you'd expect from a supposed first world country.

We know in the USA, they give low-wage jobs to migrants to skew the "payroll increase" metric to claim companies are hiring and the economy is growing. I would be skeptical of Japan numbers - I was at a restaurant in Tokyo and the young Japanese server politely begged me for a tip - a first in my lifetime.

I think the report failed to report how many people stopped looking for jobs. Perhaps this is another reason the numbers looks skeptical.
The report indicated many workers who left their jobs in July to seek new opportunities found new employment the following month, a ministry official said, adding, "This isn't a bad trend as they have been steadily enrolled."

@travelbangaijin I think you are exaggerating what happened and using the word "BEGGED" only makes your post more dramatic. I doubt it occured!

see they must be counting the 4 security guards that protect pedestrians from street work. What they should be reporting is wage income. When you have 50% of your population making the same as they did 20 years ago with prices doubled that of 20 years ago unemployment numbers like that seem normal. I mean they will take anything to survive. And with more Japanese leaving the work force due to retirement and cheap third world country filling in sub-low paying jobs so that local native can get a minimum wage cooperate job things will not get any better any time soon. I wonder if these headlines are for look at us and how good we are to the world.
