He should not be allowed to resign. He should be fired and stripped of all benefits. He’ll just retire with his fat severance payout and not give a fat rat’s about it.

improper sales at Japan Post Insurance and Japan Post and found that of those, 12,836 are suspected of violating a law

The chief executive of Japan Post Holdings Co and the heads of two subsidiaries will resign

Will resign? It's been months and they are not being arrested yet?

Wait... in paragraph 2 it states that Japan Post is "the former state-owned postal services group,"

yet in the final paragraph it states it is 57 percent owned by the government.

When you own that much more of the service, and are more than capable of influencing and directing the company, is it really 'formerly' state-owned?

How about we just call it 'state-controlled' now? Or call it an amakudari landing pad?

More honest than calling it 'formerly state-owned'

No worries, I'm sure he has enough buddies to give him a soft landing somewhere else. Who needs ethics and history of successful business leadership when you know the right people?

Japan Post Holdings, 57 percent owned by the government,

Amakudari at its "best"!

That only an eight-year window. When should one stop worrying about being finished in business and head for the door?

RESIGN ???.that's too good for them, they should stay and pay for their cheating ways in front of all their co-workers and the Japanese public. They need to live their humiliation every day and be reminded of it until death.

Wow some of the ageism comments on here are disgusting, at 63 years old many people still have a lot to offer the work force and the business world. How come it is ok to single out a group of people because of their age but not because of their gender, race or sexual preference, is that not bigoted? or Discrimmination?

Now back to the post office, one of the most inefficient bumbling outfits you will ever deal with in Japan, just to send a letter or EMS can take 20 minutes waiting in line while the idiots behind the counter try to figure out how to do it, how many forms need to be filled in and how much it will cost, let alone figuring out where in the hell the country is you are sending it to or whats it even called, pathetic bunch.
