How's that solid state battery coming along? Toyota needs a killer EV line up in the next decade to stay successful, or even relevant.

@Hillclimber
Hydrogen will be a costly failure. Any shortcomings with EV's today will be patched thanks R&D in this field and investment by companies and governments. Japanese automakers and battery makers (like Panasonic) are way behind the US, Germany and Korea in this technology. They were late the game and are now paying for it.
I just don't see the desire and commitment by both Japanese companies and the Japanese government to lead the way in developing these emerging technologies. We saw this with how badly Japan fell behind in IT, software and semiconductors over the past two decades And I fear the same scenario will repeat itself in Japan's last surviving major industry: Automobiles. Such a shame.

Toyota - up
Honda - up
Mitsubishi and Nissan - way down
I would like to see how the other four are doing - I see more and more Subarus on the road. The collective average was down, so the increases at Toyota and Honda may have been outliers.
