Elect a president who actually knows what a tariff is.

It seems to me everyone knew this happens sooner or later, except Trump.

Tired of winning yet?

The ill conceived and mindless trade warmongering by the current occupant of the White House, sooner rather than later, will show its consequences.

I'm curious about trade wars. Now, the word on the street is that they are easy to win. And you know I LOVE to believe the word on the street. But, if the word on the street is correct, and trade wars actually are "easy to win", then why hasn't America won the trade war with China? It's easy right? If it's easy, it means that Trump is choosing not to win. Can someone tell me why Trump would choose to not win the trade war? Or is he actually not choosing to not win, and trade wars aren't as easy to win as the word on the street would have one believe?

"I'm a very smart person!"
"Trade wars are easy to win!"
What he doesn't realize is that he is not just hurting China, which he shouldn't be doing anyway, but he is also hurting the U.S.. Such a dummy.
Less than one year and five months to go.

Hmmmmm.... Everything now seems to be "amid trade war". How would trade war affect US factories, who export next to nothing to China. Although it may be a contributory factor to the slower global growth referred to in the article.
As for easy to win, depends how high your pain threshold is.

The pattern for the past fifty years has been for Republican administrations to pump a lot of hot air into the economy, giving the appearance of a Potemkin village of economic activity. Then reality sets in, as actual economic factors and poor policies take over, we get a recession, and a Democrat is elected to clean up the mess. After some time, a complacent and ignorant voting public elects a Republican, and the cycle starts over again.

Um, when Obama was in the White House. So people are upset because conditions have just recently become as bad as they were before Trump became president. Oh, but it seems they aren't:
People have short memories.

it,s a shot in the foot Mr. Trump you have to admit it. and as always, the working class is the one to pay for it.

It doesn't seem so good anywhere. Are we too quick to point to political causes when perhaps we just don't want to buy the same old junk all over again?

Look up the numbers. China is giving better export deals (export TO China) to the EU and South America and raising barriers (again export TO China) for the USA.

Fine. So what would you do do?
