Why do I get the feeling this completely leaves out Chinese banks and government?

U.S., Japanese banks lead fossil fuel financing

All that fluff and ad money put into promoting SDGs and eco is just green washing.

Who would have thought??

The world's biggest banks financed fossil fuels to the tune of $705 billion in 2023

Under the Biden administration, big oil and gas have done very well, unfortunately for those concerned about pollution and climate change. The other guy would be even worse.

Aah, but they all love their SDG lapel buttons and advertising how they are contributing to lowering their carbon footprint on their websites.

Because China is the biggest invester and promoter of green energies..

Cut your anti-China childish whining.. Lol

A lot of the financing goes towards researching and providing safer mining, cleaner burning, less pollution, and greater environmental protection, but the SDG crowd ignore that, along with China, India and Russia's pollution.

This is good news! Cooler and smarter heads are prevailing! It's highly doubtful that global warming is due to humans or that the small steps we take at great expense to countries that care can make any significant difference anyway.

Riiight, because banks main motive is to protect the Earth and slow climate change.

The whole purpose of banks is to make as much profit as possible and keep investors and other stakeholders smiling.

Anything else is fluff blowing in the wind.

And Biden has just upped taxes on EVs.

Well, China is set to provide a green revolution if not stymied by western governments.

The U.S. also invests more in Green Energy than any other country

“The United States' budget for clean energy investments exceeds $559 billion – more than any other nation. The World Economic Forum's Fostering Effective Energy Transition 2023 report, sees renewed focus on energy security, which restricts clean energy access for many developing nations.”
