Vox Media, owner of the Vox and The Verge websites as well as the landmark New York Magazine and its online platforms, announced Friday it was letting go seven percent of its staff.

Sad for independent media. With AI tools it easier to create to culture war stirring, corporate shilling media pap than ever before.

The corporate agenda first right wing media may flourish though.

An alternative could be artisanal gonzo really creative content that is still difficult for content farms, Chat GPT to produce.

That won’t happen, people don’t want extremism from both sides, having said that they don’t want to watch any Network that just strictly attacks one politician over the same subject for six or seven years. that business strategy completely destroyed CNN, they need to swing back to the middle if they want to gain public trust in a foothold again which they once back in the early 80s and up to the mid 90s.

Good, nothing but fastfood junk journalism these days. Saying or writing what they think sells themselves. That is a journalists only worry these days.

Go woke, go broke!

Rather than actual journalism, said "media" outlets spew half-truths and completely fabricated garbage.

The public has grown tired of the junk they put out.

You just described the Murdoch media shtick which led them to ratings dominance during the Obama admin.

Having read Vox articles and registering their very left of center bias, I am surprised they they are laying people off like a capitalist right-wing organization would. Odd.

Couldn't have happened to a better company. Now let's see BBC and Fox follow suit.

CNN will be not missed as same as many other "news".

Falling ad revenues and online media making fewer profits.

A bit harsh. There is some decent stuff out there. CNN, Fox etc. are partisan nonsense for the most part. The ‘alternative media’ can often be a toilet of conspiracy theories and rip-off artists encouraging idiots to think they are intelligent.

Choose carefully.

Fake news doesn’t have the impact it used to have.

I dunno. There are quite a few still on board with the stolen election trash.

The world would be a much better place without CNN and Anderson Cooper preaching his agenda to us.

There are quite a few still on board with the stolen election trash.

Which obviously isn’t fake news or what I’m referring to.

like this supposed “journalist”on CNN claiming was no violence in the Atlanta Antifa riots:

A perfect distillation of the problem.

The people are smart enough to decide what they want to consume. As far as the media is concerned, millions of Americans decided CNN if not what they want to watch, that’s why the ratings are changing, regardless of what they do.

Make fun of and sneer at half the population and they will abandon you.

Meanwhile over at FOX News business is booming.

CNN even has to shut down its iconic Atlanta location.

and they are considering to hire a comedian for prime time news coverage.

Ironically they don’t realize how many clowns they already have on air.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Didn't CNN+ (streaming service) shut down within days? Talk about embarrassing.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

They need to bring back little Brian Stelter, the voice of serious journalism.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I have stopped watching media networks for years :))

The cesspool of underachievers is news media. FOX, CCN, ETC.
