Flip a coin - the operating world being "flip"....

EVs were "horrible", a "hoax", that "stole US jobs"....

Then Elon gave him millions in campaign donations - they suddenly turned to "fantastic"....

With Trump, there are no "positions" - just bribes....

What does Musk make of that after spending billions to support Trump in the elections?

This is a great policy from Trump. The entire nation will benefit in the short and long run.

I thought the same but after a while a came to the conclusion. Nobody buys a Tesla because they want an electric car because there are other choices. They buy Tesla because of the name and the customer wants an electric car and they think it’s cool. If anything this might be good for Musk as the market leader, as the legacy companies can slow down production of electric vehicles, or even stop, giving Tesla more economic space. But I think there is possibility of letting BYD get a jump ahead of the legacy companies and if Japanese car companies take advantage of the tech changes and offer affordable electric cars it could put Nissan etc in a better position. Sadly the U.S seems to think only they buy or have an electrification target. Europe still seems to be going on with theirs, so American companies will still need to produce electric cars or lose ground to others. VW, BMW, etc etc

STARGATE!

Trump scores $500 billion investment in A.I. Thank you Japanese tech titan.

Tech CEOs have a goal to cure cancer with A.I.

Scientific breakthroughs are back!

Biden was just plain bad for business.

It's a Golden Age for America.

Remember the Trabant? The old-fashioned, highly polluting car that remained in production in East Germany right up till 1991? That's what Ford and Chevy SUVs are going to look like in 2030.

Their products are already uncompetitive outside their home, protected market. This legislation will just hasten their race to the bottom.

Haha, btw mathematically it wasn't at all highly polluting, because we had to wait after the order many years (8-12) before we really could buy, receive and operate it. So, the first 8 years it had real and absolutely zero emissions.

It's a Golden Age for America.

You, or trump, do not decided if or when a golden age start.

Sven,

Supply could not keep up with demand in E. Germany which kept the cute but godawful Trabant polluting children's lungs for far longer than they should have.

As soon as the wall fell, East Germans bought cars that had been developed in the competitive atmosphere of western Europe because they were better by any metric.

American manufacturers will exist in a bubble for the next four years, protected from competition from better, more efficient products from abroad, which will encourage them to be lazy. Just as they were in the 1970s when Toyota, Nissan and Honda took their pants down.

This time, on a global scale, they're going to get rogered by the Chinese.

Trump ended subsidies to Elon Musk's Tesla. This means no federal help with charging stations anymore. States can still do what they want.

Well, Elon can't really complain if he's the head of DOGE and I don't think it matters anyway, Elon has already successfully made the Tesla plug the standard for all EV's and new charging stations are going to be automatic now because the balance has been tipped in favor of them, and Musk can afford them.
