Where are the Institute for Women's Policy Research or the Bureau of Labor Statistics? Is it New York, as the lead implies? Nope--both are based in Washington, DC. As such, is this data at all relevant to the Japanese workforce--who knows? If wire stories are going to appear, as they regularly do, the title should be clearer--i.e. "US women face greater..."

Good, hopefully it will encourage more woman to enter higher paying fields of work.

Essentially the skillset you possess is easily replaceable. No discrimination there, just facts.
Keep upgrading your skills or be left behind.

Expect calls from feminists for women to now invade traditionally men positions such as plumbing, HVAC technicians, elevator and escalator technicians and electricians because these are high paying jobs that that will not be replaced by automation and a.i. You heard it here first!

Invade? Is this a war? Are women not allowed in these positions? Are men who become nurses or caretakers or traditionally female positions invading those professions?

In my very male-dominated industry we are hoping for more invaders.
I didn’t think we are opening the door for conquering hordes.

I wouldn't worry too much just yet.
AI is pretty much summed up very nicely here:

An more topically, Boeing's foray into the scene hasn't gone down well either (At least Musk's car has manual override!).. "Hello Dave!"...
This isn't really about Tech replacing Women's jobs, but more about cutting costs. For example, department stores used to have teams of Women pressing the Buttons for you, nowadays you press them yourself and have to read a sign on the wall to determine which floor to get off on. Do you think, for one minute that the Elevator button pushing career had a rewarding future for the individual ? Sure it brought in an income, but if the Department store closed, what would her work experience be ? ("I know the right buttons to press ?")
We all face change in our lives, it's how we deal with it, not just Women, but Men too. Look back 20-30 years ago, at the Careers that no longer exist now-a-days. Is anything really different.

Seems like we face an existential threat from ourselves from all sides.
