Incredible - more progress! keep it up! Sorry, sengoku, you should have changed your yen to dollars before this. But, hey, just be glad under 90 yen still gets a doillar - heck, it wasn't all that long ago that it took over 240 yen to get a dollar!

Serrano is right. The inflated value of the Yen has become a huge drag on the economy as Japanese made products have become way too expensive in the world marketplace. This will likely be a bump. The US Congress will surely mess up the debt ceiling a little bit, and that is likely to cause a bump.

This is great news for the Japanese economy. Bad news for speculators though... which is even better news for the Japanese economy!

It's about time. Let the yen keep falling. It would be just fine at 100¥=$1.00.

Falling dollar will help to jump start economy.

But for a long term, I believe Japan needs a structural change in economy with a big bang innovation that people need and want. You are producing something nobody want and need. And products are too expensive compared to others.

Example:

Have just upgraded all kitchen appliances to LG (refregirator, electric smooth top range, dishwasher and microwave in stainless steel surface). as they are all energy saving products as tax incentives. I did not see any energy saving appliances made in Japan.

Wake up, Japan. You have just missed US consumer who spent over $5000 here. Stainless steel appliances are in. Energy saving appliances are in. You need to catch up with true demand.
