YouTube offers music for free without even signing up. And many are from the artists themselves on their own free channels. Skip the middleman...well, somewhat

And doesn't Spotify have ads? Why pay for a subscription and still need to see ads? Old television and YouTube offer shows for free, paid via ads.

Spotify has a free tier.

YouTube may be free in Japan, but in the US it isn't. They want $188 a month. Nothing ruins listening to a song than to have a commercial pop up. Forget about watching anything longer than 10 minutes. Sooner or later Japan and anywhere else that hasn't been charged yet will have to. YouTube was great while it lasted, but I don't use it anymore.

Its free in both places. There is a paid version, but I just use the free ad-supported one. Gonna get ads one way or the other (YouTube ads and/or in-video sponsor ads).
Just wish they would let the creators choose where the commercials go so its not so jarring.
