Police in Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture, have arrested a 52-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of property destruction after he smashed a window in the corridor of a high school following an argument with the principal.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday at Komaki High School. Broadcaster NTV reported that the man told police he smashed the window out of anger at the principal’s attitude during a meeting about his son.

Police said the man had been asked to come to the school and discuss some issues with his child with the principal.

After the meeting, the man stormed out into the corridor and smashed a window. A staff member called 110.

I'm going to wager that the son had behavioural and anger issues.

I wonder where the child gets his ‘issues’ from…..behavioural issues learnt from his father maybe?!

This wouldn't even come close to making the news in the US. Nice to see incidents like this make it into the news. It shows how relatively peaceful it is here.

Pfft.

Dude is a thug, most definitely the kid is a punk.

Lock them both up, and give the mom/wife a break.

If there even is one.

Really? That’s your takeaway from this? This has absolutely nothing to do with the US. It happened it Japan, at a Japanese school and involving an angry, criminally violent Japanese parent . All hands clap for this making the Japanese new though, right?

Nice sentiment AlternativeOption but I’d put money on it being as Fighto and Gazman described it.

He didn't like being in school?

How much do you want to bet the "issues" discussed were behavioral issues, particularly anger and maybe even lashing out?

Anyway, with the way schools and teachers bend over backward to do whatever parents demand and to listen to parents complain and insist their child is an angel, etc. (not just here, but everywhere these days), I am glad they had the guts to call the police and have the man arrested. I hope he is charged accordingly, and while the man's child should not suffer at all as a result of his father's actions, I also hope the school takes the issues they have with the boy seriously and don't let him off the hook if they involve bad behaviour.

Great model for his kid, he is. Three guesses why the principal called him in...

Plenty more man children in Japan just like this jerk.

I get it. Probably felt the principal insulted his son. Good to have a father who sticks up for you.

If everyone around you acts like an ahle, maybe it's you.

Maybe it's the principal.
