Police in Osaka are investigating the death of a one-year-old boy who died of intra-abdominal bleeding.

According to police at around 12:05 p.m. on Monday, a woman in her 20s called 119, and said her son was not breathing, Sankei Shimbun reported. The boy, Yuito Nishimura, was rushed to the hospital, but was confirmed dead on arrival.

An autopsy on Tuesday revealed that the cause of death was intraperitoneal bleeding as the result of strong pressure or blow being applied to the boy's abdomen. He is believed to have been injured around 11 a.m.

Police said Yuito’s mother told them she noticed her son was lying face down on his futon and not breathing. She said he had been sleeping since 10 p.m. the previous night.

The woman lived alone with Yuito at an apartment in Hirano Ward, but police said her boyfriend, a man in his 20s, was a frequent visitor and they are questioning both him and Yuito's mother about whether they ever physically abused the child.

Nobody knows, but the boyfriend sounds suspicious. There have been so many sad similar cases.

Scum! Anyone who could hurt a baby like that shouldn't be allowed to ever have children again!
