10-year-old boy slashed while walking home in Aichi

A 10-year-old boy sustained minor injuries after an unknown man attacked him with a knife in Kita-Nagoya on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:20 p.m. as the boy was walking home. The boy told police that a man who was standing on the sidewalk suddenly approached him and slashed him with a knife, NTV reported.

Police said the boy received knife wounds to a finger on his right hand. The boy's pants were also cut. After the attack, the assailant fled on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as being a thin man in his 20s, and was wearing a hat at the time of the attack.
