Some 110 windows were found smashed at a public elementary school in Ichihara City early Tuesday morning, after police received a call from a nearby resident who said he could see two people smashing windows and entering the school.
Police received the call at about 1.30 a.m. and rushed to Higashi Tatsumidai Elementary School, but no one was found on the property. About 110 windows, mostly on the first floor, were found smashed. Police said the suspects used flowerpots and a wooden beam to break them.
Police said the school had left their front gate open at night and anyone could enter. They also said that nearby Tatsumidai Junior High School has had similar incidents on four occasions this year, the most recent being on Dec 19 when 152 windows were smashed.© News reports
