A 14-year-old boy who had been in a coma since being beaten by four other teenagers on Oct 10 died Sunday night in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture, police said Monday.
According to police, the victim, Shota Mori, suffered a subdural hematoma after being kicked in the head, as well as broken ribs, Sankei Shimbun reported. He was taken to hospital after the attack but never regained consciousness.
Three boys, aged 15, 16 and 18, and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with assaulting Mori, police said. Three of the suspects formerly attended the same school as the victim who lived in Tsu.
The four have admitted to beating Mori between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in a park toilet on Oct 10. They said they slammed his head against the wall and kicked him as he lay on the floor of the toilet.© Japan Today
