Police in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, are looking for a man who stabbed a 14-year-old girl as she was walking home on Monday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 5 p.m. The girl was returning home when a man approached her on a bicycle, Sankei reported. The girl told police the man got off his bike and suddenly lashed at her with a knife, before getting back on his bicycle and fleeing. The girl sustained wounds to her stomach.
A woman heard the young girl cry out and notified police. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of her wounds, and was in a stable condition on Tuesday, police said.
Police said the suspect is approximately 30 years old, 170 cm tall, and was wearing a faded black T-shirt at the time of the attack. The girl told police she had never seen him before.© Japan Today
