A 15-year-old girl was sprayed in the face with an irritant substance by a man as she walked to school in Fuchu, Tokyo, on Thursday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 8 a.m. just as the girl neared the front gate of Fuchu Daiichi Junior High School, Fuji TV reported.
Police said the girl told them a man she did not know suddenly came up to her and sprayed something on her face, causing a burning sensation in her eyes, and then ran away. A passerby called police.
The girl was taken to hospital to have her eyes washed out but otherwise, suffered no other injuries.
Police said they are examining street surveillance camera footage to try and identify the man.

on top of that, in cases like these the perpetrator often has a mentality of being angry at women for the things that aren't going well in their lives - eg; no girlfriend? it's all women's fault, not theirs.
