16-year-old boy arrested for stabbing mother with scissors

I cannot fathom how any child can do this to the most important person in their world, their mother.

I hope this evil child is placed in a youth detention center and then transferred to an adult prison for many years. No more games, thieving or knives for you, little scumbag!

He is 16. Japanese law is very soft on him.

So, he's not only a thief - from his own mother, no less - but a coward.

Back in my day, If child did that, they'd take the scissors and stab back "see? How do you like it? Not so nice, is it?" Parents are too soft nowadays.

I can’t understand this kids. I know that many of them are ignored and abused by parents in Japan but to try to kill your mother because she got mad .... and she got mad for a good reason. I know the low in Japan is soft but for those who say that it’s not a big deal I really wonder if that kid stabbed any of you on the street because he was angry with his mother, will you be as understanding as you are now?!?

I guess it very much depends on the Child, and the genetic make up of the Family amongst other things.

At least he called 110 and didn't run away or tried to kill himself. There's still hope...

Nobody knows what kind of life this kid has had to endure. And yet there's the usual suspects calling for him to be stabbed and jailed for life.

He obviously has anger management issues and needs counseling.

Attempted murder...so the best weapon he could find was a pair of scissors? If I was set on murder (which I am not) I would take a quick peek in the kitchen. Maybe one of mummy’s knives, the ones she uses to cook your food would be better?

If the mother was attacked "at around 2:15 a.m." then it is entirely possible that she was attacked while sleeping.

alot of these b-made broken lighbulbs bullying around up into their late twenties, that need to be served something proper, but the kobanites protect them, they must stay in Japan.

Police said the boy has admitted stabbing his mother and quoted him as saying he did so after she got mad at him for taking her money without asking, in order to buy video games.

Well........now, no more money for video games, no more video games, no more mother.
