16-year-old boy to be sent to juvenile court for killing father

A 16-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his 49-year-old father at their home in Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture, in September, has been found mentally fit after two months of psychiatric evaluation and will be sent to a juvenile court.

The Aomori District Court ruled on Friday that the boy can be held responsible for his actions, Sankei Shimbun reported.

A neighbor discovered the victim collapsed inside his house at around 3:20 p.m. on Sept 14 and called 110. The man had stab wounds to the neck and other parts of his body. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police arrested the victim’s son who was at home when they arrived. They also found a knife which was the murder weapon.

Following his arrest, the teenager admitted to the charge but did not give a motive.

The court said the boy will remain in custody until he appears before the juvenile court on Dec 17.

this behavior goes against every moral rule, ever!

Why?!

Why?!

Anger for some reason. If you feel trapped it's either run, (16 yrs old no money, not likely) freeze (and the trapped feeling doesn't go away) fight (what we are reading about). Now why did he feel trapped.

Family bonding & sharing are very important to prevent any crime.

We wish every body has a good & loving family.

Why?!

Japanese news media say the boy wouldn't want to inherit the family farming job.

A simple punch in the face would of avoided the destruction of two lives and the family farm.

Goodluck

I don't approve of violence, but I do agree with your comment.

16 is a young age, a time when teenagers like to talk back and disagree with parents. This story shouldn't have ended up like this.

"Japanese news media say the boy wouldn't want to inherit the family farming job". This explains why, there is two sides to this story. If the boy didn't want to inherit the family farming job perhaps he did feel trapped. Maybe he wanted to pursue other things in his life besides farming. If this is the case, then it explains why!

But now we will probably ‘inherit’ him when he is again among us after some years.

Or his father could have just accepted that his kid didn’t want to be a farmer. Honestly, if his father punched him in the face, I think he’d be more inclined to react violently and I’d be more inclined to sympathize. If a stranger slugged me in the jaw and I knocked his block off, it’d be self-defense. I think you’d see a lot fewer cases of child abuse if we applied the same standard to a parent/child scenario.

From what people are saying, it seems to have been over a dispute about the kid not wanting to take over the family business. Wonder how that conversation went down that it ended in bloodshed.
