A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in his home in Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, early Tuesday by an unknown intruder, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. The boy’s 42-year-old father, who was in a room on the second floor, told police he heard screams coming from his son’s room, also on the second floor. He saw his son stagger out of the room, followed by a man he did not know who rushed down the stairs and leave the house through the front entrance. No knife was found at the scene of the crime.

The boy was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his neck. Police said his wound is not life-threatening. He told police he did not know his attacker.

The intruder is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, about 175 cms tall, of thin build and was wearing a gray top over black pants. Police said he climbed up a power pole and entered the victim's bedroom through a balcony window on the second floor.

It'could well be a complete weirdo with " I wanted to know how it feels to stab someone in the night"...

PS : closing the door safely at night is not that useless, even in Japan

Maybe he went in for a robbery but when he saw the boy, just panicked and went for a kill?

The father said he didn't know the guy, but has the son already spoken? Maybe he knew him? If its just a random stranger that's really scary. He climbed to the 2nd floor so that seems like he knew the boy was there. Anyway glad the cut was not life threatening.
