18 schoolgirls' swimsuits stolen at primary school in Yamanashi

Police on Wednesday said that 18 swimsuits belonging to girls had been stolen at a primary school in Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

According to police and the school, students discovered that the swimsuits, some bags and goggles were missing when they came to school around 7:50 a.m. The items had been left in an unlocked cabinet at the back of the classroom. The school told police that nothing was missing when a teacher checked the classroom around 5 p.m. on Tuesday when she was locking up. Police said a security company which monitors the school had not received any reports of intruders.

Schoolgirls' swimsuits were stolen three years ago at the same school, according to the principal.

A search warrant for each male teacher's home should wrap this case up quickly, I would imagine.

I am with smartacus, this "case" seems to be a know brainer. Rather than looking for an outside perp, the police should take a long hard look at the teachers.

I think should be either the coach, the director or the cleaning guy. I would be most surprised if it was the cleaning guy though. It's creepy just to think about teachers in this country!

Oh dear - this sounds like classic WaiWai stuff - watch out for the 'bulltin boarders'' complaints, Japan Today!!! ;)

Were the Speedo LZR Racers?

The principal did it!

NEXT!

Most likely insider work. Interrogate the teachers and school staff. The guilty should be fired immediately from school and listed on a national database of pedophiles (who wants a pedophile working with his kids?)

Does JT just look for the most bizarre stories or is there only strange news in Japan?

This story is a classic! If it is one of the teachers I'd like to know what other little fetishes and desires he or she has also been satisfying while teaching at this school.

If these swimsuits were Speedo's, I think the police should also consider members of the Japan Olympic Committee or industrial spies working for any one of Japan's sports apparel manufacturers. For those people who like a good conspiracy, perhaps the cops should also be looking into the whereabouts of a certain "Elvis Aaron Presley," an American national, also known as the "The King."

I think they should make these uniforms standard attire for females in my company.

(Badminton Uniforms Picture of the Day, 23rd June)

I think the Five-O should check whether sarge was in the Yamanashi area on Wednesday.

Look for them in a vending machine near you

Yes, I also just though, someone is going to make a good buck in Akihabara soon ;-)

guess they couldn't find any used underwear so this was a suitable replacement...world-class pervs

Hey!! Times are tough all around! Desperate times brings desperate measures!! You can't blame the Japanese Olympic Swim Team for cutting a few corners now can you?!

I, for one, applaud their "outside the box" thinking.

As I suspected, rampant conspiracy theories and automatic guilt of teachers/staff is assumed. Never mind that this could simply have been a theft committed by a lone or group of schoolgirls. Nope, in the minds of many here, it's perfectly fine to not wait for any factual and concrete evidence to come to light before engaging in offensive stereotypes and wanton accusations. Apparently, the 'let's wait for the entire story/evidence to be known before making conclusions' does not apply to these types of incidents.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Pfffff.... why to wait when it would be pretty obvious. No conspiracy theories at all, it's just the common denominator in this kind of cases.

someone must be opening a new store...

If Japan ever decides to create a national database of pedophiles they might find it easier instead to compile a list of those who AREN'T! That would fit on a 256MB Flash drive instead of the gargantuan server required for the pedophiles!

NuckinFutz,

That would fit on a 256MB Flash drive instead of the gargantuan server required for the pedophiles!

So I guess that you are not on the 256MB flash drive. Only a handful of babies are. what a ridiculous statement. take your witch hunt and soap box to another universe.

rjd,

You may be on to something there.

"nothing was missing when a teacher checked the classroom around 5 p.m. on Tuesday when she was locking up."

Call me the suspicious type but even just this suggest to me the police won't have to look very far. And I wonder whether this teacher might have not worked at that school for exactly 3 years...

with japanes lollicon fetish it is only logical to assume that it is done by some perv, my girlfriends underwear was constantly stolen (no it wasn't me :p)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

dennis0bauer,

was your girlfriend a lollicon?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

rjd, romulus: so if it turns out that it was teachers/principal, will this board be graced with apologies from both of you ? or will it be (at least for rjd) the usual disappearing act ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

and if it is discovered that it is a teacher then we will duly vilify him or her and bay for his or her blood.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Maybe they just misplaced them. I'm sure they'll turn up eventually.

rdj - "Nope, in the minds of many here, it's perfectly fine to not wait for any factual and concrete evidence to come to light before engaging in offensive stereotypes and wanton accusations."

That's bottom line why I like JT so much. LOL! :-)

Yet another nutcase on the loose...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Hardly wilbur, why should I, romulus, or anyone else apologize for anything. All we are stating is whatever happened to waiting for all of the evidence or facts of this case to be known before making wanton and reckless accusations. People like you love to switch your values system as you see fit to suit the situation, as this is a case where all principals involved are native Japanese and can make them look bad, it's perfectly fine to jump to conclusions. If this were a case involving a foreinger/American, then the likes of you would be the first to cry about waiting for evidence, whole story needs to be told, crooked cops, etc.

The ultimate truth about what happened here is absolutely irrelevant. If it was a teacher that ultimately stole these swimsuits, so be it, hardly makes me or any other rational person "wrong" nor do we owe an apology. We never said it NEVER was a teacher, we are just calling people on their double standards. Any sensible person would understand this. So if in fact it IS a teacher, go ahead and spent 30 posts gloating over the fact that you guys were "right" and how rjd jr was wrong and where's the apology. It only makes you all look bad. That people like you continue to fail to acknowledge this clear distinction in every situation like this is not surprising at all.

Its better that the schoogirl's swimsuits were stolen and not the schoolgirls. My friend asked her Mom for her old High school uniform because she said that she could sell it online for 10man yen. The percs are buying them. But her Mom had tossed them out a few years back. Perhaps this is a money scheme. Maybe swimsuits can fetch some yen online?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

i meant "pervs" sorry

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I suspect that some perv teacher thinking that if the sutis were stolen that in some way the girls would be forced to swim in the nude......tsk tsk

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Whoever's responsible needs stringing up. Dirty, dirty bastard.

Quite possible.

bushlover: Mom already sold it!! Didn't want to share the money.

Are there not enough news can be found lately?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

somewhere some Otaku is wearing one of these suits over his head while looking at porn. Sorry, jumping to conclusions but this is Japan after all.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

usaexpat - he's more likely to be looking at Gundam.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Kaptains got a great point. A nice alternative to the usual "perveted freak" theme. But only SMART people would sell swimsuits.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Are we really reading and commenting about some stolen schoolgirls' swimsuits? or is this just a very stupid dream that I am having? cause if it is really happening I am preparing my suitcase tonight and I will be gone tomorrow. W T Fk!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I bet the parents won't think this is funny once they have to replace them. I wonder if another school is pulling a prank??? Just a thought. I hope the kids don't miss any lessons or meets because of this.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Unbelievable. Next Friday, check Metropolis Magazine for their Clothing classifieds : "18 swimsuits for sale, email for details."

USAEXPAT and TORU Sensei: Excellent, some otaku wearing them on his head, watching Gundam online, ha ha!

What's the big fuss, about these swim wears.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Mission Accomplished.

Another perv Japanese man adding to his collection, no doubt. Politician, policeman or teacher this time? Maybe just another sleep-deprived sarariman.

These sorts of stories about Japan should not be translated. It puts Japan in a bad light. What would happen if the 2ch folks got wind of this anti-Japan stuff being published in English?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

he got a "crouch"smelling fetish, why is everyone surprised. Swimsuits are just part of the routine , someone says it puts japan in a bad light..HELLO..wake UP..bad things DO happen here occasionally...IT is NOT anti-japan... pervs exist here amongst us
