Police in Date, Hokkaido, have arrested a 19-year-old woman worker on suspicion of attempted murder after she stabbed her father at their home.
According to police, the suspect, who cannot be named because she is a minor, stabbed her father in the back twice with a kitchen knife at their home at around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, local media reported.
At the time, her father, who is unemployed, was in the living room watching television. After being stabbed, he managed to call 119. He was taken to hospital and his wounds are not life-threatening, police said.
Police quoted the daughter as saying, "I wanted to kill my father out of hatred after being subjected to his daily physical abuse.” She told police that just before she attacked him, she and her father had gotten into a heated argument. She also said he had slapped her face a day earlier and then he frequently beat other members of the family.
Police said the suspect lived with three siblings and her parents.

A Japanese newspaper says that the unemployed father is in his 40s. He is young enough to get a job. Let alone beat the daughter and other members of the family. Nonetheless, it's a good thing for the father and his daughter that his wounds are not life-threatening.

He has three kids? Come on, get any part time job u can get. At the conbini, gas station, supermarket, or anything that will pay the bills and occupy your time. Spend the time doing something constructive then just watching TV and getting stabbed. Put some food on the table instead!

Needs to go to jail? yes! Absolutely! Had a stabbing and attempted murder coming to him? not at all. Unfortunately, as a result of this woman's, or girl's, actions, SHE also needs to go to jail. Being abused doesn't give you a license to kill.

Anybody read the part where are a women attempts to kill another person. Seems not. Believe it or not attempted murder is a crime. Being unemployed is not. The assailant is a grown woman and if she had any issue with her father she should have moved out and reported it to the authorities. Her solution for a problem with another person is to try and kill them. This mindset has no place in society and hopefully she will be jailed for a very long time. As for the father, the allegations against him need to be investigated. The womens credibility is certainly in doubt after actions however. Also just because he is unemployed doesnt mean he is automatically guilty.

She should have moved out, a long time ago, move to friends house, get a flat, share a flat with a friend, just get out of the nasty situation. the wife should move out to, and take her kids with her, leave this pile of dog do to fester in his own house alown.

I believe her although, the family should have reported this abusive loser long before it came to this. It's a very difficult thing for family members to accuse their father of abuse and, in most cases, it goes unreported and continues for years. It's not until someone is severely injured or killed that the truth comes out.
