Police in Odate, Akita Prefecture, have arrested a 19-year-old company employee on suspicion of abusing his two-month-old son.
According to police, the suspect, who cannot be named because he is a minor, violently shook his son several times at around 11:30 a.m. on Oct 10, Sankei Shimbun reported. The infant’s mother, who was in another room with the couple’s daughter, later noticed that her son had lost consciousness and called 119.
The baby was taken to hospital where doctors diagnosed him as suffering from an acute subdural hematoma. Suspecting physical abuse, the hospital notified a local child welfare facility which contacted police.
The suspect, who was arrested on Thursday, has admitted to the charge and police quoted him as saying he had become stressed through his work and child-rearing. The baby remained unconscious on Friday, police said.

You son of a ## He's only 2 months old! What's wrong with you PUNK?!
Disillusioned
He has two kids at 19 years old? Kids raising kids. I'm not saying all young parents are bad, but it is often the scenario. My first was born when I was 18 and my second when I was 20, but I love my kids and never once thought about abusing them. However, 19 year olds in Japan are much younger than those in other countries.

Piece of human trash.

still can't drink alcohol, only just recently allowed to vote, but has two kids? i think parents under 20 should have to do mandatory child rearing courses.

He's still legally a child, plus he has a family to support, so expect a suspended sentence. Funny that the rights and privacy of a soon-to-be baby killer must be protected.

pathetic. so when can we have our turn and violently shake the father?

Japan should increase the adult age to 30.

Wow. 19 and 2 kids but don't know how to deal with stress? Play some video games and relax. Don't go taking your work related stress out on a 2 MONTH OLD BABY!
