The body of a 53-year-old woman from Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, who had been missing since June 18, was found in the mountains of Shiga Prefecture on Monday night, police said Tuesday, adding that two men have been arrested in connection with her death.
According to police, the two suspects are Ichiya Nishida, 20, a construction worker from Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, and an 18-year-old man, who cannot be named because he is a minor, from Aisho, Shiga Prefecture. Fuji TV quoted police as saying that Nishida had met the victim, Miyuki Noda, during an online seminar about virtual currencies.
Police said the two suspects have admitted to burying Noda's body on June 20 in the mountains of Taga, Shiga Prefecture.
Police said Noda went missing after attending a sales seminar about selling cosmetics online in Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture, on June 18. She was last seen getting into a car registered to Nishida later that day at JR Ogaki Station. The police had been questioning Nishida on a voluntary basis since Noda's disappearance and arrested him Monday after he told them the whereabouts of Noda's body.
Furthermore, a cell phone and bag belonging to Noda were discovered in Nishida’s home.
