Three people died of head injuries after being found collapsed in a house in Sakaki, Nagano Prefecture, police said Wednesday.
Police said they received a call at around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, in which the caller said three people were injured, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police rushed to the house, owned by Takenori Ichikawa, and found a 35-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy. All three were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Two guns were also found at the scene of the crime.
The woman was identified as Anna Ichikawa and the boy was her brother Naoto. The man, Sho Ozawa, is said to have had ties to a criminal syndicate, local media reported, adding there was trouble between him and Ichikawa's oldest son whom he assaulted outside a convenience store on Sunday night.
Ichikawa and his wife were not hurt. Their oldest son was not hurt, police said.

Even if the article didn't overtly state the criminal syndicate element, gun murder in Japan is predominantly the domain of yakuza.

Don't believe the government's claims that criminal syndicates are a thing of the past.
They are just better concealed, but are revealed in incidents such as this.
