@Bob Sneider, did you complain to your friends or just laugh along with them about the joke?

There is a difference, If you go along with it or not.

i went to a restaurant with a Japanese family and they fed me whale; the other Japanese people I was with watched me eat it knowing full well that I was heavily against whale consumption. I thought it was kara-age; when I found out what it really was, I felt like I could vomit then and there.

I can hear the whaling from the showers already.

Rape humour?

All they had to do is say NO comprehende! and they would have been excused!! It seems to work in the US.

They were serving it in the name of science!

Bring the to jail and don't let them see the sunlight for couple of years! Justice for the whales!

A Japanese restaurant named "the hump" what else could they have been serving? *In a non-"dirty" connotation.

Whatever happened to "Do as the Romans do" that the Japanese so preach about? They never follow any rules of their guest country.

If you can't do the time in prison, don't serve the cetacean, as my Mom used to tell me.

Aren't the customers who ate the whale meat just as guilty?

I'm sure they'll have a whale of a time in federal prison.

Glad they were caught doing this in the US. Chances are they might actually be punished. Hope Typhoon Restaurant Inc. is shut down and people imprisoned as well.
